NEW DELHI: An intense rescue operation involving officials from the Army and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is underway at Gujarat’s Dwarka after a three-year-old girl fell into a borewell in Ran village on Monday.
According to local reports, Angel Sakhra was playing in the front yard of her family’s residence when she reportedly slipped inside the open borewell around 1 pm.
Senior officials, including Dwarka District Collector Ashok Sharma, are present at the spot monitoring the rescue operation.
Eyewitnesses said they could periodically hear the cries of the girl child, and a team from the health department is pumping oxygen into the borewell.
