KOLKATA: Refusing to give in to Congress‘s “impractical” demand for eight to 14 Lok Sabha seats in Bengal, CM Mamata Banerjee said on Tuesday that TMC could spare no more than two seats for its prospective INDIA ally to contest.
“If necessary, we will fight alone in Bengal. Prepare to fight alone,” she told TMC’s Birbhum leadership during a meeting in Kolkata’s Kalighat.
Mamata said she wouldn’t rule out Congress trying to “hand over the additional seats” to CPM and BJP.
Sources said the CM told her colleagues that TMC would contest both Birbhum LS seats.
