Union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Bhupendra Yadav, Piyush Goyal, Mansukh Mandaviya, Parshottam Rupala and Rajeev Chandrasekhar may be part of BJP’s first list of Lok Sabha candidates, reports Akhilesh Singh.
As a primer to its central election committee (CEC) huddle that is set to decide over 150 candidates, an “informal meeting” of BJP brass with leaders from seven states that have a large number of LS seats was held at its headquarters on Saturday.
CMs from UP (Yogi Adityanath), MP (Mohan Yadav), Rajasthan (Bhajan Lal Sharma), Chhattisgarh (Vishnu Deo Sai) and senior leaders from West Bengal, Telangana and Kerala attended the meeting in which Shah, party president JP Nadda and other BJP national office bearers were present.

In its first list, BJP leadership could consider announcing candidates from constituencies where opposition parties have finalised their names. These include many seats in UP where SP and Congress have tied up.
Earlier, Nadda had a consultative dialogue with party functionaries for feedback on progress of ongoing campaigns to reach out to masses, especially first-time voters and beneficiaries of central welfare schemes – a course of action PM Modi had suggested during BJP’s National Council meeting recently.
