NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reviewed the progress of development projects, including the inauguration of the newly built airport, at Ayodhya in a meeting with Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath.
Sources said while the UP CM had visited Modi to invite him to inaugurate the airport- a project the PM was keen on in view of the surge of pilgrims from across the country- the two leaders discussed the whole range of development projects being undertaken.The projects, many of them conceptualised by the PM, have been speeded up by the Yogi government in view of the approaching inauguration of Ram Temple.
Modi had recently suggested to Shri Ram Tirtha Trust to create additional attractions in Ayodhya which is likely to see a surge in the number of visitors to the holy town after the inauguration of the temple.
“Devotees would obviously be attracted towards god and there will be a huge footfall in Ayodhya to see Lord Ram after the temple is inaugurated. However, we must focus on additional vistas, tourism attractions so that the visiting devotees stay and spend time in the town,” PM Narendra Modi said during a recent meeting with the Trust functionaries.
Trust secretary Champat Rai and chairman of the temple construction committee and former principal secretary to the PM, Nripendra Mishra, alongwith other trust members, had met PM Narendra Modi on October 25 to invite him for the consecration of the Ram Lalla idol, slated for January 22 next year. The PM has confirmed his presence at the function.
