NEW DELHI: Not only did Tilak Varma impress with his batting in his debut international series, but he also stole the limelight by claiming his first international wicket in his first over.
Finishing as the leading run-scorer in the series, with 173 runs in 5 matches at an impressive average of 57.67, Tilak dismissed Nicholas Pooran in the fifth and final T20I, against the West Indies, to claim his maiden wicket in international cricket.
During the 13.2 over, Pooran, attempting a reverse hack on Varma’s second delivery, got a leading edge. Hardik Pandya made no mistake and took a simple catch at first slip, marking Tilak’s maiden international wicket.

India lost the match by 8 wickets and the series 2-3.
