NEW DELHI: King Charles III of Britain will be taking a break from his royal duties for about a month as he recovers from a medical procedure for an enlarged prostate, according to media reports.
The reports further informs that the 75-year-old King is “doing well”. He was admitted to The London Clinic on Friday morning and underwent treatment. Queen Camilla visited him on Sunday.
King Charles as per reports also visited his daughter-in-law, Princess Catherine, who recently had abdominal surgery and is recovering at the same hospital.
While in hospital, the King will still be available for state matters and can attend to government papers. The exact nature of his treatment has not been disclosed. The King’s doctors advised him to rest, leading to the cancellation of his engagements prior to the surgery.
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has wished the King a successful treatment and a speedy recovery. The King’s diagnosis of the condition was made during a check-up in Aberdeenshire, and he decided to share the news to raise awareness about the importance of regular check-ups for men.
