SURAT: Seven members of a family, including three children, were found dead in their home on Palanpur Jakatnak Road in Surat on Saturday morning.
Preliminary police investigations revealed that six persons died due to consuming poisonous material, while one person hanged himself.
The deceased have been identified as Manish Solanki, his wife Rita, his father Kanu, his mother Shobha, and three children – Disha, Kavya, and Kushal.
Manish Solanki was found hanging from a ceiling fan.
Police also recovered a suicide note from the house. In the note, Solanki mentioned some financial crisis. However, the police are yet to share exact details.
Solanki was involved in the furniture business, and he had around 35 carpenters and laborers working on his team.
His employees were trying to contact him on Saturday morning, and when he did not answer calls or did not open the door of his house, locals entered the home by breaking a window at the back of the house.
The bodies have been sent for a post-mortem examination for further investigation.
