Kia Sonet is one of the most popular models in the rapidly-growing compact SUV segment in India. It was launched in 2020 and after three years in the Indian market, it is set to receive its first facelift, slated to debut on 14 December 2023.
The South Korean carmaker recently released another teaser of the SUV, giving us a hint of changes it will undergo. Here, let’s take a quick look at the key differences between the newSonet Facelift and the outgoing model.
Confirmed changes
The Sonet facelift will get a significant amount of cosmetic upgrades such as a new connected LED light bar that runs across the width of the tailgate, connecting the two redesigned, C-shaped tail-lamps. Kia first introduced this concept with the Seltos facelift which debuted earlier this year. However, unlike the latter, the Sonet won’t be getting the integrated ‘Kia’ branding in the middle of the LED strip. On the front end too, the Sonet will be equipped with redesigned headlamps surrounded by new LED DRLs. Further, the fog lamps housings have been updated along with new chrome inserts introduced to the grille.
Coming to the interior, the teaser shows that the updated Sonet will get a fully digital, 10.25 inch instrument cluster, which has also been borrowed from its stablemate, the Seltos facelift.
Kia has also confirmed that the Sonet facelift will get an ADAS suit, which includes features such as Driver Attention Warning, Collision Warning System, and Automated Emergency Braking among others.
Expected features
While we expect the Sonet to retain its engine options from the outgoing model, it is likely to get features such as a new Bose premium sound system (which was seen in the teaser as well), along with wireless charging, and C-type charging port. Besides that, the company might possibly introduce an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, automated climate control, among others.
