NEW DELHI: Refuting Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s claim that his speech has been removed from PM Modi’s event in Sikar, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said that he was invited but his office said he won’t be able to join it.

Replying to Gehlot’s tweet, the PMO said: “In accordance with protocol, you have been duly invited and your speech was also slotted.

But, your office said you will not be able to join.”
The PMO said that during PM Modi’s previous visits to the state, Gehlot has always been invited and he has also graced those programmes with his presence.
“You are most welcome to join today’s programme. Your name is very much there on the plaque of the development works as well. Unless you have any physical discomfort owing to your recent injury, your presence will be deeply valued, “the PMO said.
Earlier, Gehlot claimed that his three-minute speech has been removed from PM Modi’s event so he will not be able to welcome him through a speech.

“PM Modi, you are coming to Rajasthan. The PMP has removed my 3-minute address from the event. So, I will not be able to welcome you through a speech. Therefore, I am giving you a

hearty welcome through this tweet,” the Rajasthan CM said.
PM Mod will lay the foundation stone of various development projects at a programme in Sikar today.
The PM will inaugurate six Eklavya Model Residential Schools located in Udaipur, Banswara, Pratapgarh and Dungarpur districts of Rajasthan. He will also inaugurate Kendriya Vidyalaya Tiwari, Jodhpur during the programme.
