Ram Mandir Inauguration ceremony: Preparations are in full swing for the Ayodhya Ram MandirPran Patishtha (Consecration) ceremony on January 22, 2024. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Ram temple in Ayodhya and will also be the chief guest of the event. According to media estimates, the consecration ceremony would be attended by more than 7,000 people, including politicians, film personalities, prominent industrialists among others.
Schools across the country in various states, have declared a holiday on the day of Ram Mandir consecration ceremony. The Union government also declared a ‘half-day’ closing of central government offices, central institutions and other central industrial establishments on January 22, for allowing employees to celebrate the Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya. The notice states that office hours would resume that day at 2:30 PM. Here’s a look at the list of states where an official holiday has been declared.
Uttar Pradesh declared holiday on January 22
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had declared a partial closure of all educational institutions in Uttar Pradesh on January 22. The decision, which was announced in an official statement, was made in light of the upcoming consecration ceremony of the new idol of Shri Ram Lalla at Ayodhya, which is expected to hold great significance.
Chhattisgarh educational institutions to remain closed, special train scheme announced
The government of Chhattisgarh has announced an official holiday for all educational institutions across the state to commemorate the Pran Pratishtha ceremony on January 22, at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. State Minister Brijmohan Agrawal made the announcement while emphasising the significance of the event. He also announced a weekly train service for Ayodhya to further commemorate this historic event, in addition to the announcement of the holiday.
Goa announces public holiday
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has also officially announced a public holiday in the state on January 22. Recognising that this special holiday is dedicated to the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya. Chief Minister Sawant highlighted the significance of this event, emphasising its importance by declaring a holiday for government servants in the state as well.
Haryana schools closed
In order to commemorate to the Ram Temple Inauguration, the Haryana government has also decided to temporarily close schools. Additionally, to uphold the sanctity of the consecration ceremony, the consumption of liquor will be prohibited throughout the state on that day.
With the main Ram Mandir inauguration event scheduled for January 22, the key ceremonies of the Pran Pratistha will be conducted under the guidance of a team of priests led by Lakshmikant Dixit. As per reports, an important aspect of the event will be the offering of revered Ram Raj soil from the temple, which will be presented as a memento to guests that day.
