Kharge also cited Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s jibe at the opposition alliance, and asked how he expected a positive response from them when the PM compared the grouping with terrorist outfits.

“In a single day, the respected Prime Minister links the opposition parties of the country with British rulers and terrorist groups and on the same day the Home Minister writes an emotional letter and expects a positive response from the opposition. The lack of coordination between the ruling party and the opposition was visible for years, now this gulf has started appearing even within the ruling party,” Kharge said.

“There is a world of difference between the words and actions of the sentiments expressed in your letter. The government’s attitude as shown in your letter is contrary to the spirit of the House, and has been insensitive and arbitrary. This attitude is not new, but it has been seen in the last several sessions,” he added.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the fifth day of the Monsoon session of Parliament, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on behalf of opposition parties moved a no-confidence motion against the government in Lok Sabha, which has been accepted by Speaker Om Birla.
The Speaker admitted the motion and said the time of the debate would be decided later.
Union home minister Amit Shah on Tuesday wrote to opposition leaders of both houses and said that the government is ready to discuss the issue of Manipur.

“Today, I wrote to the opposition leaders of both houses, Adhir Chowdhury of Lok Sabha and Mallikarjun Kharge of Rajya Sabha, appealing to them for their invaluable cooperation in the discussion of the Manipur issue,” he said on Twitter.
“The government is ready to discuss the issue of Manipur and seeks cooperation from all the parties, rising above party lines. I hope that all the parties will cooperate in resolving this important issue,” he added.
The opposition has tried to corner the government on the Manipur violence after a video of a May 4 incident appeared recently showing two women stripped and paraded naked by a mob.
